Choosing the right Template for your Wordpress Blog

Blogging is one of the fastest growing sectors of the internet and many people from all around the world are starting a new Blog everyday. One of the first decisions a blogger has to make is the template. Which look is right? Where do I get a template from?  How much does a template cost? Stay with me and i will give you a good overview on the market for wordpress templates.

1.  Custom Development
There are many Wordpress designer and coder in the web, just Google a little and you will find plenty of websites offering Wordpress theme design. The process of Wordpress theme development can be subdivided in two parts: 1. Photoshop design and  2.Coding.  I think it's a good idea to outsource these parts to two different providers. There are many web-service companies that have specialized in coding of Photoshop files two XHTML. You can give them literally any design and they code it for in Valid XHTML in 24 hours for as low as 249$. Of course there are companies that offer lower prices and there are companies that are more expensive but 249$ is about the average and lower prices usually go hand in hand with lower quality.  All you need to do is find a designer who creates the layout of your desire. There are many designers who specialize in Wordpress design and you will find plenty of companies on Google. Just pick the company you think is the best and give them your order. Don't pay more than 500$ for layout design unless you want extra's like flash-animations and so on. If you do some research and get some quotes you can get a high-quality theme for 750$. This is the way to go for professional bloggers.
2. Buy a License
Another option is to buy a license of a pre-designed template. You can choose between a single-license and a exclusive license. Non-exclusive licenses cost about 10$ - 50$, depending on quality and functions of the theme. Exclusive licenses can easily cost 1000$ and more. I would not recommend buying a exclusive license because you can have a custom designed theme for the same price and even cheaper, but I can be a very good idea for an advanced blogger with basic html/CSS knowledge  to buy a non-exclusive license and customize it until it perfectly fits his needs.

3. Get a free Template
For the beginner the best choice is to get a free Wordpress template. If you type "Free Wordpress templates" into Google search box you will find hundreds of websites with Wordpress templates for free download. Go through the offered templates and download the ones you like best. I think it's best to check out quite a few themes until you find the one that really gives your webproject a special twist.  Free templates almost always contain sponsored links in the footer. These links aren't harmfull to you, but they are the reason why you can get your template for free.So don't be surprised and keep them.
